Jekyll&Hyde&Seek
I was born a Jekyll
But in the end I turned to Hyde
& what I seek isn’t clear to me
A trick or treat as I reside
Mother was a freckle
On the shoulder of the world
& I could never see when she was next to me
The terrified little lonely girl
You can call me Jekyll
But inside my name is Hyde
Imploding heart left to rotting art
Turns the beast within alive
Inward guided voices
Say that I’m no good
& what I’ve lost at an ugly cost
Measures up the way it should
& all the lines that lie in my life
Shape away the way I’m seen
Of all the times that I felt too shy
To say the way the day can be
A Jekyll hide & seek
I’ve been reborn a Jekyll
But Hyde does loom about
For what it is, isn’t back again
Drying up and paying out
I bare no disillusion
But we all know that’s a lie
So what does it mean when I succeed?
The Inner Lycanthrope decides
& all the lines that lie in my life
Shape away the way I’m seen
Of all the times that I felt too shy
To say the way the day can be
A Jekyll hide & seek
